My Love Hate Relationship with Maybelline The Blushed Nudes

As you can see by the title, I sort of have a love hate relationship with Maybelline’s palette The Blushed Nudes. I bought the palette sort of on a whim one day from Ulta. I had seen a couple people online create incredible looks with it, and thought that, as an eyeshadow lover, I needed it.

The color payout isn’t great. I’m not going to lie. Most of the colors barely show up when you put them on. They look gorgeous in the pan, however, they don’t have the same payout when applied. It takes a lot of building just to get the colors barely noticeable.

Having said that, I really like this palette when I’m going for very simple makeup. The fact that the colors are so light means I can go for a pretty natural look without my eyes looking and feeling completely naked. I can get a little shimmer and make my face look a little awake without making it look like I spent an hour on my makeup, which sometimes is what I want.

So, final thoughts on the palette? It’s okay. If you like light, natural makeup, I say go for it. Or if you’re looking for a palette that’s reasonably priced and you want to build your collection, get it. However, if you are hoping for something that will make you put your Naked palette back on the counter in favor of something else, it isn’t this. Or if you’re hoping for something where the payout and quality are amazing, and the price is even better, it isn’t this.

I don’t totally hate the Blushed Nudes palette, it isn’t the first palette (or second, or third, or fourth…) that I would reach for. However, it is my go to for very casual days where I just want a little something on my eyes.
