February 2017 Favorites

February really kicked my butt. It snuck up on me out of no where, and then was gone just like that. I feel like I needed another week in that month to get everything that I needed done. By the time I got my January Favorites up, I had like a week till I needed to get my February Favorites up. Now that I’m looking at the date, I realize how behind I actually am, whoops! Better late than never, right?feb 17 favs

NARS Audacious Lipstick in Barbara
I have a really hard time finding nude lipsticks. Like, it’s a constant battle. Most nudes look too brown or orange on me, and on some rare, yet very terrible, occasions the color matches my skin directly and makes it look like I have no lips. Ulta recently started carrying NARS, so during the Platinum 20% off, I picked up two colors. This lipstick has seriously become my everyday go to. For the first time ever, I found a brown nude that isn’t too brown on me. The color is really natural and matches literally everything. The formula is really creamy and long lasting, and it doesn’t dry out my lips at all. I know these lipsticks are ridiculously expensive, but if you’re a very pink, pale girl who can never find nudes, go check this out! It’s seriously amazing!

Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Pillow Talk
A couple weeks ago, I decided to treat myself to some Charlotte Tilbury products. They’re definitely not cheap, so when deciding what I wanted to get, I had to think long and hard. The Pillow Talk lipliner has been a cult favorite for a long time, and CT just released a lipstick in the same shade for Valentines Day. The color seemed perfect, and right up my neutral alley, so I knew I had to have it. This color is the perfect pinky nude for days when I want to keep it simple, but have a little color on my lips. I find myself reaching for this lipstick pretty much everyday when I want a very subtle touch of pink. The bullet itself is square, which is different from every other lipstick that I own. I personally really like it, because I find it very easy to get all the corners of your lips without making a mess. If you love the look of this lipstick, but don’t want to splurge, keep reading for a perfect dupe!

NYX Lip Liner in Peekaboo Neutral
If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know my love of NYX lipliners. They’re super cheap and last a long time on the lips. My most recent color obsession is Peekaboo Neutral. It’s the perfect match for my Pillow Talk lipstick, so the lipstick doesn’t lose it’s original coloring or fade because I’m not wearing a liner. If you’ve been looking for a dupe for CT Pillow Talk lipliner, definitely pick this up! The colors are pretty much identical, but the NYX one is soo much cheaper!

Benefit High Brow in Luminous ($22 at Ulta)
I spontaneously picked this up at Ulta a few weeks ago and am so glad that I did. This is a highlighter pencil that is meant to be used under the eyebrow. What I’ve been doing lately is filling in my brows, and then using this pencil to define and highlight the brow bone, and then I blend it out using a flat top brush. Since using this, not only is the highlight under my brow more noticeable, but my eyebrows look a lot cleaner and sharper. Benefit has two different colors to choose from, one champagne and one pink. I opted for the champaign color because I thought it would be more wearable for everyday and be able to go with every eye look.

Sigma F25 Brush
On a day to day basis, I normally just spot conceal any areas that I need it, and then set it with a powder. This Sigma brush has become my go to for applying powder to my face. It has the perfect shape and denseness to it. The brush is fluffy, but reaches a point at the end, so I can apply directly to all the areas that I need it. The brush is also dense enough that I can set my concealer well enough that it won’t be cakey or creasy. If you don’t have this brush in your life, seriously look into getting it. It’s super soft and perfect for every day!

Sigma E35
For the past few weeks, I have been searching for a blending brush that is somewhere between a Sigma E40/MAC 224 and a MAC 217. I wanted something that could get a little lower in the transitional area, but not my crease directly like the 217 does. I stumbled upon this on Sigma’s website one day, and decided to give it a try, and can I just say that I am obsessed. This is the perfect size for getting exactly where I want it. I use this brush everyday to apply a second, slightly darker transitional shade just above my crease area. Just like all of Sigma’s brushes, this one is really soft and doesn’t scratch my skin at all. I think this brush would also be amazing for anyone with a smaller lid who is looking for a crease/blending brush that isn’t quite E40/224 big. Overall, I think this brush is really versatile, and could be used for pretty much any eye shape and size.

Sigma E45
If you haven’t caught on by now, I just recently made a huge order from Sigma. In my quest for an in-between crease brush, I picked up this pointed brush. There weren’t a lot of reviews or pictures of this online, so I went in blind buying it. I feel like this brush would be a really good alternative to the MAC 217, because it can get directly into the crease, but I actually love it for the lower lash line. I’ve been looking for more brushes for that area, but find that all pencil brushes tug on the skin or are way too scratchy. This brush is really soft, but is still able to pack on the color under the lash line, and blend it out like a dream!
