Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette Review

So way back in March, Too Faced released their limited edition Sweet Peach palette. I went back and forth on whether or not I wanted it, and when I finally decided I did (literally at 5 pm of the launch day) it was out of stock everywhere. And I mean everywhere. I checked every website, Ulta, Sephora, and Sephora in JCPenney near me, and none of them had the palette. I was heartbroken. When I heard it was coming back in stock for Christmas, I knew I had to get it. Fast forward to December 2nd at 1 am, I’m glued to my computer anxiously trying to get the early release of the palette. After the website crashing multiple times, and my computer crashing, I finally get the palette, at 2:45 am (and thanks to my lovely boyfriend for buying me it as a Christmas gift). I thought that everything would be smooth sailing from there, but nope. A few days later, I see my palette was delivered to my school, but I never got a slip notifying me to pick up a package. I checked every day for the next five days, but never got a slip. I got fed up and asked if someone would check the mailroom, and sure enough, my package is sitting there, they just forgot to give me my slip.

Needless to say, getting this palette was probably one of the most difficult things ever, but I have it and it’s mine and I love it. So in honor of the launch tomorrow, I decided to post my review!

The colors in this palette are all inspired by peaches, and lean on the warmer side. There are 18 different colors in the palette, five of which are matte shades. Overall, I found the formula to be pretty on par with (and maybe a little better than) the Too Faced Chocolate Bar. Some of the shadows were really creamy and pigmented, and some (Delectable, Candied Peach, and Talk Derby to Me) were a little stiff and hard to work with. There were a few shades in this palette (Luscious and Caramelized) that really surprised me with how nice the formula was.

The color selection in this palette had a pretty good range. There were a lot of colors that would be perfect for a natural, everyday look, and there were others that would allow you to get a little more creative. I can definitely see myself using most of the colors in this palette, with the exception of maybe two or three. If you were someone who was hoping for a very heavily pink and peach palette, you’ll probably be a little let down. There’s more browns in here than anything else, but most of them do have a slight pink or orange tint to them.

I really liked how this palette wasn’t too warm. I find that with shadows that are extremely warm-toned, I end up looking like I have a black-eye or I’m sick. There was a good combination of warm and neutral-to-warm colors in the palette that allows me to use this without looking bad. So for anyone with fair, cool-toned skin, fear not, this palette will still work for you!

The packaging of this feels exactly like the Chocolate Bar, and is similar in size and weight, too. The top is covered in peaches, and has a peach to orange ombre effect to it. I personally think it’s really cute, however I can definitely see how some people might find it tacky. Like most of Too Faced’s palettes, this one is scented. I read so many reviews where people said that the smell is overwhelming, and I personally don’t agree. Unless I’m holding my nose right up to it, I can’t smell anything. The smell also isn’t sickly sweet. It’s just a nice, subtle fruity smell.

Personally, I really like this palette. I feel like there aren’t many like it out there, and I know for sure that there aren’t any like it in my collection. The color selection is really unique, and would be perfect for the spring and summer. I also feel like these shadows would work on so many different skin tones. There are shades in here that would complement fair skin really well, and also shades that would look amazing on deeper skin colors.

If you’re someone who loves Too Faced products, I would definitely recommend this. It’s super adorable and a must for anyone who collects their products. If you are someone who loves pinks and neutral shades, you’ll love this. But if you’re someone who doesn’t like Too Faced formulas, you might not love it. Personally, I’m not crazy about the formula of the Chocolate Bar, but I find this one to be better and last longer, so swatch it before you immediately write this off. Overall, I do really recommend this palette, and I know I’ll be getting a ton of use out of it this summer.

What do you think about this palette? Were you able to get your hands on it the first time or did you miss out like me?
