May 2016 Favorites

Hey everyone! I am finally back from vacation and I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things! I have a few posts planned coming up that I’m super excited about, so be on the look out for those!

Anyways, time for May favorites! I was out of town for most of the month, so I was only able to take a few products away with me. Because of that, my favorites this month won’t be huge, but there were definitely a few things I was absolutely loving this month!

Urban Decay Naked Palette ($54 at Sephora)
This has always been one of my favorite palettes, it was actually my first big makeup purchase ever, so it holds a special place in my collection. When I was packing up to go away, I knew I wanted to bring this, so I packed this and my UD x Gwen Stephani palette. I ended up using this palette every day, only touching my other palette twice. I am obsessed with all the colors in the palette, especially Sin and Sidecar, and I definitely recommend this palette to everyone!

MAC Lipstick in Faux ($17 at MAC)
This lipstick is one of those my lips but better colors. It’s a satin lipstick, so it’s semi-matte but still creamy and comfortable to wear on the lips. It’s a muted-mauve pink color, that looks gorgeous on the lips. I think out of all the colors I brought on vacation with me, this is the one that I wore the most. It’s a perfect everyday color that looks amazing with every look and is super comfortable to wear.

Colorpop Lippie Stick in Aquarius ($5 at ColourPop)
This is another color I took with me when I was gone. It’s a creme pinky nude, which is like the perfect nude on my lips. It’s has a brown tint to it, but not too brown that it looks bad. It’s also really comfortable to wear. I’ve been looking for a nude that actually looks natural, because they all either wash me out or are way too brown, as of now this is the best nude I’ve found. So if you’re pale and need a good nude, check this out! It’s super cheap and amazing quality.

MAC x Ellie Goulding Lipstick in Only You ($13.50 at MAC)
This color described as a muted mid-tone coral color with a cremesheen finish. It’s a light pink with a little bit of gold shimmer in it, but nothing crazy or cheap looking. The formula is super creamy and comfortable to wear on the lips, making it great for everyday. The color is also gorgeous for spring and summer because of how bright, but wearable the pink is. This color is limited edition, but it is on sale at the moment so I definitely recommend checking this out and trying to get your hands on it before it goes out of stock.

NYX Lip Liner in Nude Pink ($3.49 at Ulta)
This lipliner is super inexpensive and works really well. It’s a light pink color that goes well under pretty much any nude pink lip. I wore this under Only you and Faux all month and it looked amazing. The formula is a little drying on it’s own, so it’s definitely something that you would want to layer with a more moisturizing product. But for the price you can’t beat the product.

What have you been loving this month? Apparently I’ve been loving a lot of lipsticks lately.

    1. Definitely hit or miss. Their lippie sticks and lip liners are amazing, but I’m not the biggest fan of their liquid lips. It really depends on the product and the line, some are way to drying for my liking.

  1. That Faux lipstick is exactly what I’ve been looking for! I’ve gotta grab it this weekend when I go to the mall!
Lovely post and great pictures! Definitely followed 🙂 check out my blog too if you’d like I just posted my own faves! Xoxo

    1. I don’t have So Select, but it looks like a really pretty color! Faux looks a little lighter, and the color looks matte on the lips. So it really depends on what you like!

  2. Lovely products!!! I know it’s hard to find the perfect nude lipsticks. I just wrote a post about it and thanks for commenting btw. It’s just a matter of experimenting with different brands, but don’t forget to try out low priced brands as well. You would be surprised about the quality 😉
