March 2016 Favorites

*Insert cliche about time moving too fast and not believing it’s April already.*

This month has been so overwhelming for me. I’ve been so stressed with midterms and work and preparing for summer and next school year. My skin has definitely suffered because of it. I don’t know if it was the stress or the fact that I haven’t been eating the best or some product I was using, but I was breaking out so badly this month. I sort of took a short break from makeup so that I could try and figure out what was making my skin react how it was. Because of that, I won’t have too many makeup favorites this month. There will still be some, because I continued to do my eye makeup daily, just not my face. So I apologize for that! But my skin is getting so much better, so I’ll slowly start reintroducing products and see if my skin reacts okay with them. So next month will be better, I promise!

March 2016 Favs

Mario Badesku Drying Lotion
I got this product towards the end of the month, but it has been a savior for me. I generally get cystic acne, so it’s painful and under the skin. Normally, it will take 3-4 days for a pimple to go away on me, but this product is making it clear up in less than 48 hours. All you do is take a Q-Tip and put it in the pink goo at the bottom of the bottle (don’t shake it up) and dab it on the pimple before bed. It’ll dry hard and by morning the pimple will be so much smaller! I’ve even been putting this on spots where I feel a pimple coming on, and it’ll stop it from ever forming. Definitely suggest giving this a go, because it’s already become a staple in my routine. (I’ve even already recommended it to my roommates.)

Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask
I’ve had this mask for over a year, this is actually my second one of these. After washing your face, apply this all over dry skin and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Then wash it off and moisturize, and voila! It makes your skin feel so soft and so smooth. I’ve gotten my boyfriend and roommate hooked on this, too.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
I feel like this is the most hyped up drugstore mascara ever, like everyone loves it. I’m super picky when it comes to mascara, and I normally end up layering multiple different ones just to get the outcome that I want. However, when I use this, I only need this one. It gives great length and volume because of all the different sized and shaped bristles. When I went home for 10 days, I only took this mascara, which is saying something cause I normally take I think 4. I definitely recommend checking this out because you can’t beat it for the price.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara & Benefit Roller Lash Mascara
I paired these two together, because whenever I use one it’s with the other. On their own these mascaras are good. Better Than Sex is really voluminizing and Roller Lash is great for lengthening, but when they are together, they’re incredible. I use Better Than Sex first, and give my lashes a couple coats. Once that dries for about 15-20 seconds, I layer Roller Lash on. My lashes don’t look clumpy or spidery or anything. They look thick and long (which is the dream, really). This has been my go to combination for most of the month.

Hot Tools 2in. Curling Iron
I’ve had this curling iron for awhile, and use it on and off. However, this past month I have been using it just about every time I do my hair. I love this curling iron because it gives these huge curls that give you the salon blow out look. It also can hold a style for days, like when I use this monday, my hair stays almost the same until Friday, which is insane. (Side note: I was using this last week and nicked my neck and now I have a huge burn that resembles a very scabbed over hickey, ahah)

What products have you been loving this month? Apparently I’m all about skin care and mascara this month, ahah

  1. I love that I keep finding bloggers who have very similar beauty routines!! I just had a post about the Roller lash I love how simple it is for me to have my eyelashes curled without actually curling them. I also love mario bedescu’s drying cream (similar to the lotion) and Origin’s Charcoal clay mask! I also use Glam Glow’s supermud mask if you ever were interested in trying a new one. I feel that its similar to Origin’s but pulls out the residue/dirt layer even more for a very deep clean. Awesome post 🙂 -xoxo Kat
Check out my page :), i attached the very similar post on skin care!

      1. Yes it definitely is 😦 which I agree I luckily got it as a gift. I also got a mini travel size one at some point which was a nice sample. Don’t worry though I still loveeee the origins clay mask also a great competitor without the high $$
