Valentine’s Day Makeup

Valentine’s Day is this weekend, which means it’s time for chocolate covered strawberries and heart shaped candies (which is the important stuff, right?!). I put together a pink/purple toned eye look that is wearable for whatever plans you may have, whether it’s a date or just hanging out with your friends. Although it’s a little cliche, the palette I used was the Naked 3. I feel like everyone uses this for Valentine’s, but the colors in it are just so fitting for the occasion.

Step 1 is, as always, prime your lids. Some primers that I’ve been loving are the NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base, Lorac Behind the Scenes Primer, and the Urban Decay Primer Potion. Priming assures that your makeup will stay on all night and not crease or lose pigmentation.

Step 2 is to put the color Nooner through the crease. Take a little at a time to build the color up slowly, making sure to blend it out to there aren’t any harsh lines. It took me awhile to get the color to where I wanted it, so don’t try and rush by packing on too much at once.

Next I took Liar and packed it all over the lid.

To finish off the shadow, I took a mixture of Factory and Mugshot and put them in the outer corder of the crease. Take a little of that color mixture and smudge it under the eye. Highlight under the brow bone with Strange. Finish off with eyeliner and mascara of your choice. I tight lined using this pencil liner, and made a line across the top lash line with a wing using this liquid liner.

And the finished look! Let me know in the comments below if you decide to try this look out!

What are your plans for Valentine’s? It’s my roommate’s birthday, so my boyfriend and I are going to dinner and shopping with her.
